Our Mission

Why We Exist

Every year, wildfires devastate communities, destroy ecosystems, and threaten lives. We believe that with advanced AI and real-time monitoring, we can shift from reactive response to proactive prevention, giving communities the tools they need to stay safe.

Our Vision

To create a world where wildfire threats are identified and mitigated before they spread, where emergency responders have real-time intelligence at their fingertips, and where communities can live with confidence in their safety.

What We Do

Fireflyt combines autonomous drone operations, computer vision, and machine learning to provide real-time wildfire detection and spread prediction. Our platform helps fire departments, emergency services, and land management agencies:

  • Detect fires in their earliest stages
  • Predict fire spread patterns with high accuracy
  • Optimize resource allocation and response strategies
  • Protect communities through early warning systems

Meet Our Team

A passionate group of technologists, scientists, and innovators committed to protecting communities from wildfire threats.

Alex Yepiz
Alex Yepiz
Team Lead & ML Lead

Leads the Fireflyt team and spearheads the machine learning pipeline. Developed the fire spread prediction model, curated and analyzed large-scale wildfire datasets, and defined the model architecture used across the platform.

Maadhav Subramanian
Maadhav Subramanian
Full-Stack / Infrastructure Lead

Architected and built the Fireflyt platform end-to-end — from the Next.js frontend and FastAPI backend to the real-time drone mission planner and AWS cloud infrastructure. Designed and deployed the production ECS/Fargate environment, CI/CD pipeline, and VPC networking that takes Fireflyt from local prototype to a mission-ready, scalable cloud service.

Aditya Soni
Aditya Soni
AI & Computer Vision Lead

Built the wildfire detection and camera-based fire spread prediction models that form the core of Fireflyt's computer vision stack. Analyzed diverse datasets to develop the spread projection model, enabling accurate real-time fire behavior forecasting.

Joel Maldonado
Joel Maldonado
Robotics / Drone Lead

Drives the autonomous flight systems powering Fireflyt's drone operations. Engineered drone hardware integration and autonomous navigation using the NVIDIA Jetson Nano, enabling real-time aerial wildfire monitoring without manual piloting.
